Christine Cox, CCS, CPC-H, CHI, FCS, a nationally recognized expert, author, and speaker on coding and revenue cycle issues, is presenting this key information in preparation for the roll-out of Recovery Audit Contractors to all 50 states.
Christine is a Manager of Coding & Chargemaster with BESLER Consulting. Christine has been with BESLER for over two (2) years and brings with her nearly twenty (20) years of experience in directing coding, reimbursement, registration and documentation improvement engagements involving both inpatient and outpatient facilities.
In addition to her consulting experience, for the past ten (10) years Christine has been an instructor for both private (hospitals, medical practices) and college training programs in the healthcare field with the focus on revenue cycle improvement and compliance. She participated in the editing process for the “Hospital Billing and Coding” textbook released in early 2006 by Elsevier Publishers, and has just completed editing the reimbursement and coding sections of another Elsevier publication “Medical Assisting”. Her article on CDM Compliance was published in Compliance Today, the Health Care Compliance Association’s magazine (July 2007) and she has co-authored a chapter on CDM compliance for the CCH Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual.
In addition to healthcare revenue cycle experience, prior to joining BESLER Christine also developed databases for medical practice operational assessments and has provided both management consulting and strategic planning services to health care practices. Christine has successfully achieved the designations of Certified Healthcare Instructor (CHI), Certified Professional Coder for Hospitals (CPC-H), Facility Coding Specialist (FCS), and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). |
